Intern Therapist

Thinking about starting therapy can feel scary and overwhelming — there are so many unknowns, including finding a therapist who feels like the right fit. I use a warm, authentic, and compassionate approach with every person I meet, with the goal of creating a space that feels genuine, real, and respectful. We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you, and I’ll always welcome your questions to help you feel as comfortable and supported as possible.
Many of us carry difficult emotions — fear, shame, self-doubt — that keep us stuck in painful patterns and cycles. The belief that we have to face our struggles alone, or that they define who we are, can make it all feel even heavier.
In working together, I hope to support you in better understanding and connecting with your emotions, behaviour patterns, and the self that feels most like you. We’ll explore what it might look like to live in alignment with your values and work to build a life that feels meaningful and worth living. Whether you’re navigating personal or relationship challenges, I want to help you feel seen, heard, and capable of handling whatever life brings your way.
Experience
Before beginning my journey as a graduate counselling therapist and pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I spent almost eight years working as a registered nurse in the mental health and addiction world. I have worked with diverse populations across various settings and these experiences allowed me to sit with people during some of their most vulnerable and difficult moments. They taught me how complex emotional pain can be and showed me how helpful compassionate support is during tough times. This work also led me to the trauma-informed, harm reduction lens I now practice from, and reinforced the importance of culturally sensitive care and meeting people where they are.
Along with my Bachelor of Nursing I also have a Bachelor of Kinesiology, which allows me to bring a holistic perspective to my practice. I recognize the deep connection between the mind, body and spirit and believe that healing often involves the whole being. I think it’s important to explore not only your thoughts and feelings but also how our struggles and stress can show up physically too.
Client Focus
Adults, adolescents, children aged 10+, couples, and families. All genders and sexual orientations are welcome.
Types of Therapy
I offer a holistic, trauma-informed, integrated approach, meaning I may use pieces of different approaches to ensure treatment is unique to your specific needs. Some of the types of therapy I pull from include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Issues
I offer care to those looking for support with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, stress, emotion regulation, body image, self-identity, relationships, and communication.
More than just my work:
Outside of work I love spending time with my partner and our two fur babies, Ace and Sulphur. I am a big lover of the great outdoors so in the summer I try to get to the mountains as much as I can. Hiking, paddleboarding, and camping are some of my favourite ways to unwind. My most recent adventure includes buying an old 1979 campervan with my partner and wow has it been more work than we anticipated! In the winter I turn into more of a homebody (as I really don’t like the cold!) and love to curl up with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate.
